Paneer Lifafa Paratha Recipe / पनीर लिफाफा परांठा रेसिपी

Ingredients / सामग्री:

• Wheat flour (गेहूं का आटा) – 2 cups
• Salt (नमक) – 1/2 teaspoon
• Water (पानी) – as required
• oil (तेल) – for frying
• Paneer (पनीर) – 200 grams, grated
• Onion (प्याज) – 1 medium, finely chopped
• Green chili (हरी मिर्च) – 1, finely chopped
• Coriander leaves (धनिया पत्ती) – 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
• Red chili powder (लाल मिर्च पाउडर) – 1/2 teaspoon
• Garam masala powder (गरम मसाला पाउडर) – 1/2 teaspoon
• Salt (नमक) – to taste

Instructions / निर्देश:

1. In a mixing bowl, combine the wheat flour and salt. Gradually add water and knead to form a smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 15-20 minutes. (एक मिक्सिंग बाउल में गेहूं का आटा और नमक मिलाएं। धीरे-धीरे पानी डालें और गुंदे हल्के हाथों से चिकना आटा बनाएं। ढककर 15-20 मिनट के लिए ढक कर रखें।)

2. In a separate bowl, mix grated paneer, chopped onion, green chili, coriander leaves, red chili powder, garam masala powder, and salt to taste. (एक अलग कटोरी में पनीर, कटी हुई प्याज, हरी मिर्च, धनिया पत्ती, लाल मिर्च पाउडर, गरम मसाला पाउडर और नमक मिलाएं।)

3. Divide the dough into equal-sized balls. Take one ball and roll it out into a small circle.

4. Place a portion of the paneer mixture in the center of the circle.

5. Fold the edges of the circle towards the center, covering the filling completely to form a square or rectangular shape, resembling a “lifafa” or envelope.

6. Gently roll out the stuffed dough into a square or rectangular shape, taking care not to let the filling spill out.

7. Heat a tawa or griddle over medium heat. Place the lifafa paratha on the hot tawa and cook on both sides until golden brown, applying ghee or oil as needed.

8. Once cooked, remove from the tawa and serve hot with your favorite curry or chutney.
